Quando chegámos a San Sebastián estávamos já na recta final da nossa road trip por França (Abril de 2010), saímos de Biarritz e entrámos em Espanha por esta cidade. Toda a gente nos falava dela mas há que ver para crer e deixá-la custou-nos muito. Tem tudo a seu favor: boa comida, praia, história e um festival de cinema que a destaca no mapa internacional.

When we arrived in San Sebastián we were already on the final stretch of our road trip through France (April 2010), we left Biarritz and entered Spain through this city. Everyone told us about her but we have to see to believe and leave her cost us a lot. It has everything in its favor: good food, beach, history and a film festival that highlights it on the international map.

Guia de Málaga

Uma das cidades que mais me surpreendeu na Andaluzia, Málaga tem tudo, um centro histórico renovado mas com a alma de sempre, museus de arte e o berço de Picasso, o mar, a praia e o sol. Fomos com as crianças e é óptima para ir andando a todo o lado, conhecendo os principais lugares de interesse, provando a sua deliciosa comida.

One of the cities that most surprised me in Andalusia, Malaga has it all, a renovated historical center but keeping it’s soul, art museums and the birthplace of Picasso, the sea, the beach and the sun. We went with the kids and it is great to walk everywhere, getting to know the main places of interest, sampling their delicious food.

Guia & Mapa de León

Num fim de semana mais fresco de Junho decidimos visitar León, a capital da provincia de Castela e Leão que a mim me surpreendeu não só pelos monumentos que tinha mas pela sua vida principalmente á volta de uma mesa com uma boa cerveja e uma tapa. Além disso fomos na época do Mercado Romano que com a sua animada programação ajudou a recompensar ainda mais a estadia na cidade.

On a cooler weekend in June we decided to visit León, the capital of the province of Castile and León which surprised me not only for the monuments it had but for its life mainly around a table with a good beer and a “tapa”. Moreover we went around the time of the Roman Market which with its lively programming helped to further reward the stay in the city.

Guia de Segóvia

A uma hora de Madrid, Segóvia é conhecida pelo o seu centro monumental onde se destacam a Catedral, o Alcazar e o Aqueduto, pela sua gastronomia em que o ponto alto é o “cochinillo” e á sua volta podemos ver vários lugares que fazem parar no tempo como a Granja de San Ildefonso, o Palácio de Riofrio ou Pedraza. Vamos pelo menos uma vez ao ano dar um passeio para conhecer um novo recanto ou comer o seu prato mais famoso.

At one hour from Madrid, Segovia is known for its monumental center where the Cathedral, the Alcazar and the Aqueduct stand out, for their gastronomy in which the high point is the “cochinillo” and around it we can see several places that make you stop in time as the Granja de San Ildefonso, the Palace of Riofrio or Pedraza. We go at least once a year to take a walk to get to know a new place or eat their most famous dish.

Terra de horchata e paella, de Praia e de cultura, de arquitetura moderna e bom clima. A primeira vez que visitámos ficámos quase um dia inteiro só na zona da Cidade das Artes e das Ciencias e a segunda já nos permitiu conhecer melhor o seu centro histórico, o seu famoso mercado, a Lonja e claro comer uma boa paella.

Land of horchata and paella, Beach and culture, modern architecture and good climate. The first time we visited we stayed almost all day only in the area of the City of Arts and Sciences and the second has already allowed us to know better its historical center, its famous market, the Lonja and of course to eat a good paella.

Guia e Mapa de Berlim

Berlim é uma cidade que ainda está em construção depois de um passado doloroso vai ocupando os espaços que foram ficando vazios com gente jovem, arquitetura moderna e uma mistura cultural que veio do pós-guerra. A cozinha é também ela uma agradável mistura: pratos típicos do país, o famoso currywurst e o doner kebab para além de um grande número de restaurantes asiáticos.

Berlin is a city that is still under construction after a painful past is occupying the spaces that have been left empty with young people, modern architecture and a cultural mix that came from the postwar period. The food is also a nice mixture: typical country dishes, the famous currywurst and the kebab doner in addition to a large number of Asian restaurants.

Londres tem história, tem arquitetura, tem diversidade, tem realeza, tem museus grátis, parques que nunca mais acabam. Tem tanto para fazer que um fim de semana nunca será suficiente, foi por isso que no Verão de 2015 decidimos virar costas ao calor e aproveitar o clima mais fresco de esta cidade. Ficou muito para ver e a certeza de voltar para ir completando este guia que é muito curto quando comparo com tudo o que Londres tem para oferecer.

London has history, has architecture has diversity, have royalty, have free museums, parks that never end. Has so much to do that a weekend will never be enough, that’s why in the summer of 2015 we decided to turn our backs to the heat and enjoy the cooler climate of this city. There was plenty left to see and surely we will go back to completing this guide that is very short when I compare with all that London has to offer.

Salamanca é uma das nossas cidades preferidas e sempre que calha passar por lá queremos ficar mais tempo. Nela passámos uma passagem de ano e há pouco tempo um fim de semana para revisitar alguns dos sitios que mais gostamos como a Plaza Mayor, a zona das Universidades, os seus bares e restaurantes, etc..

Salamanca is one of our favorite cities and whenever we pass through it we always want to stay longer. In it we spent a New Year’s eve and recently we went a weekend to revisit some of the places we like like the Plaza Mayor, the area of universities, its bars and restaurants, etc. ..

Guia de Córdoba

A nossa primeira visita a Córdoba foi em Maio de 2011, quando fomos a um casamento. Ficámos um fim de semana que calhou exactamente na altura do Festival dos Pátios, o que significava que a cidade estava cheia. Ficou por visitar a fantástica mesquita porque as filas eram intermináveis.
É uma excelente cidade para visitar, quase sempre a pé.
Our first visit to Córdoba was in May 2011 when we went to a wedding. We went for the weekend that was exactly at the time of the Patios Festival, which meant that the city was full. It was fantastic to visit the mosque because the queues were endless.
It’s a great city to visit, almost always walking.
