Não há dia do Verão que eu não queira um gelado e mesmo nas estações mais frias sempre arranjo maneira de comer. Creio que nos últimos anos as gelatarias voltaram a estar na moda, talvez o Santini se leve grande parte da responsabilidade mas lugares como o Fragoleto ganham o seu espaço na cidade com novos sabores que se juntam aos mais tradicionais.

There is no day of the summer I do not want an icecream and even in the cooler seasons I always find a way to eat them. I believe that in recent years the ice cream parlors are back in fashion, perhaps Santini has most of the responsibility for this but places like Fragoleto earn their space in the city with new flavors that come together with more traditional ones. Sky Bar Tivoli – Lisboa, Portugal

Tivémos sorte na Páscoa com o tempo em Lisboa, dias solarengos que pediam tardes de esplanada com um bom livro e uma boa bebida. Pensámos no Sky Bar no último andar do Tivoli Hotel da Avenida da Liberdade que ainda não conhecíamos e que foi uma agradável surpresa, tem uma excelente vista sobre a cidade de onde podemos ver o Castelo de S. Jorge e margem sul do Tejo.
We were lucky with the weather on Easter in Lisbon, sunny days asked for terrace afternoons with a good book and a good drink. We thought of the Sky Bar on the top floor of the Tivoli Hotel Avenida da Liberdade that we still did not know and that was a pleasant surprise, has a great view of the city from where we can see the Castle of St. George and south bank of the Tagus.

Gelataria Amorino – Lisboa, Portugal

Ao passear pela Rua Augusta encontrámos a Gelataria Amorino e decidimos que depois do almoço na Taberna Moderna os famosos gelados em forma de flor seriam a nossa sobremesa. A primeira e única vez que comemos um gelado da Amorino foi na cidade francesa de Bordéus e lembro-me que adorámos, quisémos repetir a boa experiencia que tivémos.
Strolling along Rua Augusta we found the Gelataria Amorino and decided that after having lunch at the famous Taberna Moderna we would have the flower shaped ice cream for dessert. The first and only time I ate an ice cream from Amorino was in the French city of Bordeaux and remember that we loved, we wanted to repeat the experience we have done good.

Rossio – Lisboa, Portugal

O Rossio tal como outros locais de Lisboa foi-se transformando ao longo dos anos. Estou para descobrir se é sentimento de emigrante mas nunca vi esta praça tão bonita como hoje, talvez tenha ajudado o facto de ser inicio de Setembro e estar pouca gente permitindo explorá-la com mais calma. 
As placas identificam-na como a Praça de D. Pedro IV e pergunto-me quantos realmente a conhecerão por este nome. Ao centro a estátua do homem que dá o outro nome ao Rossio, Pedro I do Brasil, o Rei Soldado, o Libertador, o Imperador, tudo num só.  
The Rossio as other places of Lisbon has been transformed over the years. I’m trying to find out if this an emigrant feeling but I never saw this square as beautiful as today, may have helped the fact that it was early September and there was only a few people allowing me to explore it more calmly.
The sign identify it as the Square D. Pedro IV and I wonder how many actually know it by this name. At the center the statue the man who give the other name to the Rossio, Pedro I of Brazil, the Soldier King, the “Libertador”, the Emperor, all in one.
