Estima-se que tem seiscentos e vinte cinco habitantes e é uma das aldeias do distrito de Cotswold com mais charme. São os turistas em busca das famosas “cottages” da Arlington Row que a enchem, seja no fim de semana ou nos meses de pico turistico. Desde o nosso hotel em Londres foi um pouco mais que hora e meia de carro mas nós passámos por Oxford (que fica a caminho) primeiro.
It is estimated to have six hundred and twenty five inhabitants and is one of the most charming villages in the Cotswold district. Tourists in search of Arlington Row’s famous cottages fill it, whether on weekends or peak tourist months. From our London hotel it was a little over an hour and a half by car but we passed Oxford (on the way) first.
Visitámos no Verão durante um dia de semana, tivémos sorte de não apanhar quase ninguém e aproveitar Bibury sem ter uma multidão por perto. O primeiro que vimos foi a Igreja de Santa Maria, conseguimos entrar e ver a sua pequena nave e no exterior o seu cemitério. Parámos o carro e começámos a andar até chegar á famosa Arlington Row com a suas pequenas casas de pedra alinhadas.
We visited in the summer on a weekday, were lucky not to catch almost anyone and enjoy Bibury without having a crowd around. The first one we saw was the Santa Maria Church, we got in and saw its little nave and outside its cemetery. We stopped the car and started walking until we reached the famous Arlington Row with its small stone houses lined up.
