Quisémos atravessar a mítica ponte do filme de Harry Potter (e o Enigma do Principe), desenhada por Norman Foster e criada para conectar as duas margens do rio Tâmisa, apenas para uso pedonal. Quando caminhas por ela não consegues ter a visão total do belo trabalho de design da ponte e foi por isso que chegando á margem sul fomos até ao piso panorâmico do Tate Modern. No ponto oposto está a Catedral de S. Paul que foi de onde saímos para atravessar a ponte.
We wanted to cross the mythical bridge of the Harry Potter film (and the Prince’s Enigma), designed by Norman Foster and created to connect the two banks of the Thames, for pedestrian use only. When you walk through it you can not get the full view of the beautiful design work of the bridge and that is why arriving to the south bank we went to the panoramic floor of the Tate Modern. At the opposite point is the St. Paul’s Cathedral which was where we left to cross the bridge.
Foi inaugurada em 2000 mas parecia tão instável que tiveram que a fechar voltando a abrir em 2002. O nosso passeio foi curto mas se vais com tempo (e não vens de trabalhar) podes aproveitar a vista que a ponte te dá tanto das duas margens como por exemplo do Shard, do Globe Theather ou um pouco mais longe da Tower of London. Além disso e ao chegar perto do Tate está uma pequena zona de relvado onde podes sentar-te, merendar e continuar a aproveitar a vista.
It was inaugurated in 2000 but felt so unstable that they had to close and reopen it again in 2002. Our tour was short but if you go with time (and do not come to work) you can enjoy the view that the bridge gives you both of the two banks For example from the Shard, the Globe Theather or further more Tower of London. In addition, when you get close to the Tate, there is a small grass area where you can sit, have lunch and enjoy the view.
