Lamucca do Prado – Madrid, Espanha

Between Spain & Portugal, Madrid & Lisboa…

Today it’s a luxury hotel but the Bourgtheroulde was actually a bank and originally a palace for the family Le Roux. It’s a fascinating Renaissance work that was built over time and also suffered during the Second World War. We just visited the courtyard which has access to the public but the interior is reserved for hotel guests.
Its elaborate exterior decoration contains reliefs that tell the Triumphs of Petrarch and the episode of the Cloth of Gold Field that tells the story of the diplomatic meeting between the kings Francis I and Henry VIII of England, which was actually a big failure because no treaty was signed at this time. Bourgtheroulde is one of the most luxurious hotels in the city with SPA and a privileged location in Place de la Pucelle, near the Old Market and the Gros Horloge Street.

This restaurant was recommended to us for a dinner with friends and had all the ingredients to be a good experience first because it is in the gardens of Casa de America that is installed at the Palacio de Linares whose facade we can see from Cibelles and secondly because the Chef Juanjo López Bedmar , well known in Madrid because of the La Tasquita Face is in charge of the menu. We enjoyed the food but the service was not at it’s best level, a shame.
