Visitámos o Entretanto depois de conhecer o Embaixada que tem o mesmo conceito, um espaço comercial instalado no antigo palácio lisboeta dividido em várias salas onde marcas portuguesas podem vender as suas criações. Fica também na Rua Politécnica no Principe Real e junto á entrada está o Prego da Peixaria o que ajuda a um plano de compras aqui rematando com um delicioso prego para matar a fome.
 
We visited Entretanto after discovering the Embaixada that has the same concept, a commercial space located in an old Lisbon palace divided into several rooms where Portuguese brands can sell their creations. Is also on the Rua do Politécnico in Principe Real and near the entrance is the Prego da Peixaria which helps the shopping  here finishing with a delicious prego.

Logo á entrada está a Liquid com sumos e smoothies, uma boa oportunidade para provar os seus detox antes ou depois de ver as lojas. Não sei quanto tempo durará o projecto Entretanto (acho que o nome já diz algo) porque no site da Eastbanc podemos ver o projecto de habitação que têm planeado para o edificio assim como outro adjacente, até lá é aproveitar que está aberto para ver as propostas da Change ou da iShoes ou comer um Cartucho do Principe, um doce conventual feito com um recheio de doce de ovos.
 
Right at the entrance is Liquid with juices and smoothies, a good opportunity to taste their detox ones before or after seeing the shops. I do not know how long the project Entretanto will last (I think the name says something about it) because in the Eastbanc site we can see the housing project they have planned for the building as well as an adjacent one until then we must take advantage to visit the suggestions of Change or iShoes or eat a Cartucho do Principe, one monastic sweet made with sweet eggs filling.

Quando fomos dar um passeio ao Principe Real e passámos pela loja da Lisbonlovers não resistimos, entrámos e claro, comprámos. A melhor alternativa á tradicional loja de “souvenirs”, aqui Lisboa é uma marca de design respeitando os seus valores e os seus símbolos em ímans, aventais, t-shirts, postais, etc.. O espelho de uma cidade que se renova sem nunca renunciar a sua identidade.
 
When we went for a walk to the Principe Real and walked by the Lisbonlovers Store we could not resist, we got in and of course we bought something. The best alternative to a traditional souvenirs store, Lisbon here is a brand of design respecting their values ​​and their symbols in magnets, aprons, t–shirts, cards, etc. .. The mirror of a city that renews itself without ever renounce it’s identity.

A loja do Principe Real é também a sede, não é muito grande mas está recheada de sardinhas, de imagens do eléctrico, de Fernando Pessoa e do Santo António. Para quem visita a cidade recomendo sem dúvida visitá-la para comprar peças originais e para quem cá vive seguramente encontrará algo que lhe permite demonstrar o seu orgulho de ser lisboeta. Eu comprei uma pulseira do Santo António (parecida á do Bonfim), comprámos uma t-shirt com as sardinhas prateadas, um livro de Lisboa para colorir e um íman para a nossa colecção que nesta loja dá vontade de comprar todos. Os preços são acessíveis com peças desde 1€ a 25€.
 
The store of Principe Real is also the headquarters is not very large but is filled with sardines, pictures of electric car, Fernando Pessoa and San Antonio. For those visiting the city I definitely recommend visiting it to buy original pieces and for those who live here will surely find something that allows you to demonstrate your pride in being Lisbon. I bought a Santo António bracelet (similar from the brazilian ones of the Bonfim), bought a t-shirt with silvery sardines, a book of Lisbon for coloring and a magnet for our collection, this store makes you want to buy them all. Prices are affordable with pieces from 1 € to 25 €.

Já tinha ouvido falar muito sobre a esplanada do Lost In e da vista maravilhosa (e relaxante) que tem para a cidade de Lisboa, aproveitando o tempo livre que tínhamos decidimos ir lanchar. Infelizmente quando chegámos não conseguimos apanhar uma dessas mesas com boa vista mas ainda assim ficámos num confortável sofá e já estava a sentir o espírito Zen que tem o espaço.
 
I had heard a lot about the terrace of Lost In and of it’s wonderful (and relaxing) view over the city of Lisbon, taking advantage of the free time we had decided to go there for an afternoon snack. Unfortunately when we arrived we could not get one of those tables with a good view but still we were on a comfortable sofa and I was already feeling the Zen spirit of this place.

Para o lanche pedimos uns scones com manteiga e um doce á escolha que vinha á parte, escolhemos o de abóbora e na realidade não resultou tão bem porque como são doces ficava um pouco exagerado. Mas scones eram bons, muito bons e valem a pena. A decoração com a sua inspiração indiana traz bastante cor ao ambiente e gostei muito da ideia dos sofás de ferro.
Tem também uma loja que vende roupa indiana e é um bom para comer ou simplesmente vir tomar um chá para relaxar um pouco depois de um dia intenso de trabalho (ou de turismo).
 
We ordered some scones with butter and jam that you could choose and will come aside, we chose the pumpkin on and in fact did not work so well because they are quite sweet already and it was somewhat exaggerated. But scones were good, very good and worthwhile. The decor with its Indian-inspired color makes  the place more lively and I really liked the idea of the iron.
Also has a store that sells Indian clothes and it is good to have a meal or just come drink some tee to relax a bit after a hard day’s work (or tourism).

Parece incrível viver tantos anos em Lisboa e nunca ter visitado o interior da Torre de Belém, como não fui em nenhuma visita da escola também não fiz nenhum esforço por visitá-la depois. Porquê? Nem sei explicar, ela sempre esteve ali no seu sitio e eu passeava muito á sua volta, via desde o comboio quando ia de Cascais a Lisboa e só quando fui viver para Madrid, senti que afinal deveria conhecê-la melhor. E estava um dia muito bom para o fazer…
It seems incredible that I lived many years in Lisbon and have never visited the interior of the Tower of Belém, as I was never on one of it’s visits from school and also made ​​no effort to visit it later. Why? Can’t really explain, it was always there in this place  and I walked a lot around it, via the train when going from Cascais to Lisbon and only when I moved to Madrid, I felt that after all I should know it better. And it was a very good day to do it…

Choupana Caffe – Lisboa, Portugal

Quando comprei um guia da Timeout com o resumo do ano um dos brunch recomendados era o da Choupana Caffe e porque o nome me traz á memoria um outro familiar (de um outro restaurante) achei que as duas coisas estavam relacionadas. Parece que não a ver pelo o aspecto do Caffe na Avenida da República. Seguindo a mesma linha de uma nova geração de pastelarias com uma imagem cuidada e moderna, é a promessa de bolos, croissants e pãezinhos de fabrico próprio que parece ser a chave do êxito.
When I bought the Timeout guide with the summary of the year one of the recommended brunch was the one from Choupana (Hut) Caffe and because the name reminds me of another familiar one (another restaurant) I thought the two things were related. It seems not judging by the look of this Caffe on Avenue of the Republic. Following the same line of a new generation of pastry with a careful and modern image is the promise of cakes, croissants and home-made biscuits which seems to be the key to success.

O Jardim de São Pedro de Alcântara tem um dos miradouros mais famosos de Lisboa e é uma boa maneira de conhecer o centro histórico desde um ponto mais alto. O seu painel de azulejos ajuda a identificar os principais monumentos que se podem ver de esse ponto e o que mais se destaca é o Castelo de S. Jorge, mas também se consegue ver o Tejo, a Sé, a Igreja da Graça entre outros.
 
The Garden of San Pedro de Alcantara has one of the most famous sights of Lisbon and is a good way to discover the historical center from a higher point. It’s tile panel helps to identify the major landmarks that can be seen from this point and what stands out the most is the São Jorge Castle, but also we can see the Tagus, the Cathedral, the Church of Graça among others.

Está dividido em duas zonas, na parte superior está uma fonte, um bar com esplanada e um monumento dedicado a Eduardo Coelho com o seu busto, foi o fundador do Jornal de Noticias e  junto a ele está um ardina vendendo jornais.
Na parte inferior podemos ver mais bancos e zonas de jardim com bustos de figuras mitológicas e heróis dos períodos da descobertas. Alguns deles são Luís de Camões, Vasco da Gama, Infante D. Henrique e Pedro Álvares Cabral. A melhor altura para visitar o Miradouro é na hora do pôr-do-sol.
 
It is divided into two zones, in the upper part we can see the fountain, a bar with a terrace and a monument dedicated to Eduardo Coelho with his bust, he was the founder of the newspaper Diário de Noticias and next to him is a “ardina” selling newspapers.
At the bottom we can see more benches and garden areas with busts of mythological figures and heroes of the discoveries period. Some of them are Luís de Camões, Vasco da Gama, Infante D. Henrique and Pedro Alvares Cabral. The best time to visit this viewpoint is during sunset.

O Príncipe Real ganhou o ano passado ainda mais vida com este espaço comercial promovido pela Eastbanc instalado no Palácio de Ribeiro da Cunha que acumulou fortuna no Brasil e depois construiu este edificio com uma arquitectura de inspiração moura. Ao entrar, o primeiro que vi foi o pátio que serve de esplanada para o restaurante Le Jardim depois em cada uma das salas estão as lojas e algumas de designers portugueses.
 
The Principe Real area won last year even more life with this commercial space sponsored by Eastbanc installed in the Palace of Ribeiro da Cunha who acumulated a fortune in Brazil and then built this palace with Moorish-inspired architecture. Upon entering, the first thing I saw was the courtyard which serves as a terrace for the restaurant Le Garden then in each of the rooms are the shops and some from ortuguese designers.

Algumas das que estavam abertas á hora que fomos foram a Organii Bebé, a Paez (de alpargatas), O da Joana que tinha umas t-shirts interessantes, a Shoes closet e Amélie au Théâtre. Aqui podemos encontrar peças originais desde sapatos, moda, bijuteria e outros acessórios. Há também uma loja de música a VLA Records cujo objectivo é promover novos talentos do sector.
Pareceu-me o sitio perfeito para ir fazer umas compras, tem ideias inspiradoras, um edificio com uma arquitectura extraordinária e um restaurante para parar e petiscar.
 
Some of which were open when we visited like Organii Baby, the Paez (of sneakers), O da Joana that had some interesting t-shirts, the Shoes closet and Amélie au Théâtre. Here you can find unique pieces from shoes, fashion, jewelry and other accessories. There is also a music store VLA Records whose aim is to promote new talent in the industry.
It seemed the perfect place to go shopping, have inspiring ideas, in a building with remarkable architecture and a restaurant to stop and snack.

Tenho que agradecer á R por alguns dos lugares que me ajudou a descubrir num dia que estivémos juntas em Lisboa e este foi o primeiro. O Poison D’ Amour é uma pastelaria e salão de chá na zona do Principe Real e logo á entrada uma vitrina expõem o que chamam o “veneno do amor”,  autênticas obras da fina pastelaria francesa que primeiro nos conquistam pela visão e depois pelo paladar.
I must thank R for some of the places that she helped me to discover one day that we were together in Lisbon and this was the first one we went to. The Poison D’Amour is a pastry shop and tea room in the Principe Real area and right at the entrance a window displays what they call the “Poison of Love”, true works of fine French pastries that first conquer us by sight and then by taste.

Durante algum tempo o meu Bloglovin e Instagram enchia-se de fotos e posts do Mercado de Campo de Ourique. Tinha muita vontade de visitá-lo também para comprovar as suas semelhanças (e diferenças) com o famoso Mercado de San Miguel aqui de Madrid, mas só na nossa última viagem a  Portugal agora em Fevereiro consegui arranjar um tempo para lá ir. Fomos na sexta-feira, tentámos ir antes das oito da noite para não apanhar muita gente mas quando algo está na moda, está e por isso estava á pinha.
For some time my Bloglovin and Instagram was filled with photos and posts from the Campo de Ourique Market. Had long wanted to visit also to check it’s similarities (and differences) with the famous Mercado de San Miguel from Madrid, but only on our last trip to Portugal in February I could arrange a time to go there. We went on a Friday, we tried to go before eight in the evening to catch it more empty but when something is in fashion, it is and therefore it was packed.

O Natal é aquele momento familiar reunida á volta de uma mesa com bacalhau, bolo-rei, sonhos e outras frituras, assim manda a tradição. Para escapar ao traditional decidimos ir jantar fora e á procura de um sitio para hamburguers demos com um de pregos. Parece que a febre saiu dos centros comerciais e já encontrou um lugar “cool” onde comer um bife no pão. Mas não é um bife qualquer…este é do lombo e nota-se a diferença.
Christmas is that moment in time family is gathered around a table with cod, king cake (bolo-rei), “sonhos” and other fried foods, so tradition dictates. To escape the traditional we decided to go out to dinner and looking for a place to hamburgers we found this “pregos” (a beef sándwich) place. It seems that the latest gourmet fever left the shopping malls and found a “cool” place to eat a steak on bread. But it is not just any steak… this is the tenderloin and one can notice the difference.
