Esta igreja ortodoxa cujo nome quase não se consegue pronunciar faz jus a: Não julgar um livro pela capa. Por fora é pequena, simples e com alguns detalhes interessantes característicos da arquitetura bizantina tudo para disfarçar um interior rico em ornamentos, em cor graças aos mosaicos e aos frescos onde se destacam os da cúpula central com Jesus Cristo ao centro. Tenho muita pena que não se pode fotografar o seu interior para trazer comigo memórias da sua beleza.

This Orthodox Church whose name almost I can not pronounce is entitled to a: Do not judge a book by its cover. On the outside is small, simple and with some interesting details characteristic of the Byzantine architecture all to disguise a rich interior ornaments, rich in color thanks to the mosaics and frescoes with the focus on the central dome with Jesus Christ at the center. Evzones é o nome dos soldados da Guarda do Presidente que podemos ver junto ao Túmulo do Soldado Desconhecido no antigo palácio real (hoje sede do Parlamento grego), junto á residência do Presidente e no seu próprio quartel. Chamam a atenção pelas suas elaboradas vestimentas – que podemos encontrar de inverno (azul) e de verão (em bege) e por toda a cerimónia quando fazem a mudança de guardas.

Evzones is the name of the President Guard soldiers who can be seen near the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the former royal palace (now the seat of the Greek Parliament), near the residence of the President and its own headquarters. They draw attention by its elaborate costumes – that you find of winter (blue) and summer (in beige) and throughout the ceremony when they change guards.

Monastiraki recebe o seu nome pelo Mosteiro que em tempos esteve neste mesmo local do qual apenas sobreviveu uma igreja, agora é uma agitada praça onde a religião ortodoxa convive com a muçulmana. Além disso tem um flea market que se divide em dois espaços um onde se vende desde calçado, roupa, souvenirs, tabuleiros de xadrez e peças de artesanato local, outra onde podemos comprar objetos em segunda mão ou antiquidades.

Monastiraki gets its name from the monastery that was once in this same place and from which just survived a church, now is a bustling square where the Orthodox religion coexists with the Muslim. Also it has a flea market which is divided into two spaces one where it sells from shoes, clothing, souvenirs, chessboards and local handicrafts, another where we can buy things in second hand or antiquities.
