Today it’s a luxury hotel but the Bourgtheroulde was actually a bank and originally a palace for the family Le Roux. It’s a fascinating Renaissance work that was built over time and also suffered during the Second World War. The first thing we visited in Rouen was its cathedral, we arrived before closing and we could not see everything but it was still a great experience. Its construction began in the twelfth century on the site of a basilica of the fourth century and another church of Romanesque style from the XI century and still retains its imposing Gothic style even after having lived through reforms after several wars, hurricanes, lightning, etc..
