Today we have discovered the … Park Güell designed by Gaudí and is in Barcelona.
There are several ways to get to this park, any of the tourist bus stop nearby, by metro you can get off at Lesseps Vallscas in any of the two prepare to walk and climb a lot in the last, the hill has some escalators which makes things more convenient and be able to discover another neighborhood of Barcelona.

We arrive at the park by the north part where we find a cross on top and at the area there is a small view point to see not only the city of Barcelona with the Sagrada Familia and the Agbar Tower but also Mount Tibidabo where the “Sacrat Cor” and the Ferris Wheel are.
We can enjoy these views with soundtrack, since scattered in the park there are numerous musicians playing in this case we were listening to jazz by two musicians, one with a guitar and the other with a saxophone.

We began to descend and even here, the Park Güell seems the most common parks located in an area of any city, until we reached another viewpoint and in the midst of so many people we can appreciate the architectural quality of the space that begins in the zone where we can sit with the famous broken tiles that are one of the hallmarks of Gaudí. This is a busy area, the sellers of bracelets, children’s toys and other musicians who play music now a bit more lively, I think one of which was heard was about Christmas.
From this central square we have a privileged view to Barcelona.
The benches in this place are fabulous, I who was full of back pain layed back and got relaxed, first by their beauty and then for its ergonomic shape something that gave good support to my back … I seem to be selling ergonomic chairs!

From there we descend to the room Hipóstila, whose columns are reminiscent of Greek or Roman temples. Güell’s intention was to make there a space for street trading, now used by musicians and some sellers of jewerly inspired by Gaudí art. Before we got there we found on the right side of the porch of the “Lavadeira” (washerwoman??). I confess that from enjoy so much the location I didn’t locate the “Lavadeira” at first glance, but after seeing the pictures there I found it in one of the columns.

Important note for when visiting any building or structure created by Gaudí, look up! Often the ceilings are brothers discrete walls, but he knew how to embellish them as no one else, so when you walk in the room it will be hard not to look up, the ceiling beyond its irregular shape, has several decorations.

On a Sunday tourists eager for pictures of the place intersected with the locals who use it for walks or to do jogging! Perhaps because of the crowd I did liked the park as I should, it was even stressful … and more so when trying to take a picture of the famous salamander, it is impossible … I think that I would go to the first hour of morning and beat someone to let me take a picture without having no one behind, the sides, putting his hand to touch up and more …

The entrance to the park its most fascinating, all the work that was done in buildings, every detail, because it was the details that Gaudí became even more interesting. A simple grid of a window was not for him something so simple, it was a reason to explore, to go further, creating … there was his genius.
As the park was donated by the family Guell (the main supporter and customer of Gaudí) to the city of Barcelona, the entry is free and maintenance is made by the Ayuntamiento of the city (City Council). They say that this park is born of a real estate “flop” by the investor Güell, he bought this land on a hill to sell properties but did not get buyers and the only person who really lived in that place was Gaudí himself. Nothing better for a lover of nature to build a park for the city …
