Inaugurado em 1977, este centro nacional de arte e cultura é já um marco de Paris. Com a sua arrojada arquitectura, animação nas praças e ruas circundantes, é díficil ficar indiferente, no nosso guia podia ler-se que é como se fosse um edificio virado do avesso, onde as tubagens e condutas funcionam também como elementos decorativos.
Opened in 1977, this national center of art and culture is already a landmark of Paris. With its bold architecture, animation and plazas surrounding streets, it’s hard to remain indifferent, in our guide we could read that it’s like a building turned inside out where pipes and conduits also function as decorative elements.
Nós que tínhamos visto várias fotos do centro ainda assim ficámos surpreendidos. Podemos até dizer que choca um pouco com a arquitectura mais clássica que tem á sua volta mas a arte tem destas coisas. A outra coisa que causa alguma estranheza é a loja da Tommy Hilfiger mesmo em frente com a sua arquitectura de casa típica norte-americana, mas ao que parece e como algumas das exposições que estão no centro, a loja é temporária e itinerante (a seguir vai para outras cidades europeias).
No seu interior o Museu Nacional de Arte Moderna, oferece aos seus visitantes a possibilidade de ver obras das escolas do Surrealismo, Cubismo, entre outras. Nas várias salas e pisos estão quadros de Picasso, Miró, Mondrian, etc..
We had seen several photos of the center yet we were surprised. We can even say that it clashes somewhat with the more classic architecture that is around it but art has these things. The other thing that causes some awkwardness is the Tommy Hilfiger store in front with its typical American home arquitecture, but it seems like some of the exhibits at the center, this shop is temporary and itinerant (next it will go to other European cities).
Inside the National Museum of Modern Art, offers visitors the chance to see works from schools of Surrealism, Cubism, among others. In various rooms and floors there are paintings by Picasso, Miró, Mondrian, etc. ..
E logo ao lado na Place Igor Stravinski vemos mais manifestações artística, seja esta imensa figura (irreverente) de Einstein ou as esculturas na Fonte com o mesmo nome da praça, em honra ao compositor natural de São Petersburgo.
Criadas por Niki de Saint Phalle e Jean Tinguely, as esculturas com dispositivos mecânicos que as fazem estar em constante movimento são alusivas ás obras de Stravinski. Ainda nessa praça está o edificio do IRCAM, que é um instituto que se dedica á pesquisa, composição e divulgação da música.
And right next to the place Igor Stravinski we see more artistic manifestations, be this immense figure (irreverent) of Einstein or the sculptures in the Fountain with the same name of the square, in honor to the natural composer of Saint Petersburg.
