Nesta segunda passagem por Sevilha, a visita á Catedral estava no topo da lista e foi o primeiro que fizémos. Tenho que dizer que fiquei espantada com a fila que tinha que a pesar de ser um dia de semana (2ª Feira) era feriado em Madrid e daqui tirei logo uma conclusão: vale a pena reservar os bilhetes antes. Patrimonio mundial, é o maior monumento gótico na Europa e no seu interior podemos encontrar os túmulos de importantes personagens da história espanhola como D. Pedro I de Castela, Felipe III e Cristovão Colombo. Para não falar da Giralda, o minarete da antiga mesquita que cedeu lugar á actual Catedral.
In this second time passi through Seville, the visit to the Cathedral was on the list and was the first we have done. I have to say I was amazed at the queue that it had despite being a weekday (Monday) it was a holiday in Madrid and soon we reached a conclusion: it is worth reserving tickets before. World Heritage Site, is the largest Gothic monument in Europe and inside we can find the graves of important figures of Spanish history such as D. Pedro I of Castile, Felipe III and Christopher Columbus. Not to mention the Giralda, the minaret of the old mosque that gave way to the present Cathedral.
Para os que não reservaram a entrada está na Porta de San Cristóbal, é onde podemos ver uma réplica do Giraldillo, a figura que coroa a Giralda. Ao entrar escolhemos um guia em Português e fomos fazendo a visita sem um percurso planeado, é uma Catedral surpreendente repleta de lugares únicos e especiais. A sua construção durou práticamente um século, começou em 1401 aproveitando alguns elementos da mesquita como a Giralda e o Pátio de los Naranjos (que veremos em posts posteriores).
Do seu interior destacaria o Retablo Mayor, o maior do mundo com uma grande parede composta por paneis de talha dourada que retratam cenas do Velho testamento. A não perder também o túmulo de Cristovão Colombo que está ainda hoje envolto em polémica por não se ter a certeza se são realmente os seus restos mortais os que levam em ombros quatro estátuas que representam os quatro reinos que serviu: Aragão e Castela (os dois primeiros), Leão e Navarra.
Foi uma visita interessante, tem várias capelas de grande interesse e depois de explorar o seu interior seguimos para a Giralda terminando no Pátio de los Naranjos.

You can’t also miss the tomb of Christopher Columbus that is still shrouded in controversy for not being sure if it’s really his remains the ones that four statues are taking on their shoulders, they represent the four kingdoms that he served: Aragon and Castile (the two in front), Leon and Navarra.
It was an interesting visit, has several chapels of great interest and after exploring the inside we went to the Giralda ending in los Naranjos courtyard.
