Passámos várias vezes por esta praça confirmando que a que era anteriormente conhecida como Plaza Mayor está efectivamente no coração da cidade. Como uma continuação da Calle Larios, encontramos lojas como a da Nespresso, Hoss, El Ganso ou a United Colors of Benetton para além de cafés com pequenas esplanadas. Fomos no Natal e ainda a vimos decorada com a sua árvore iluminada.

We passed through this square several times confirming that what was formerly known as Plaza Mayor is actually in the heart of the city. As a continuation of Calle Larios, we find shops such as Nespresso, Hoss, El Ganso or United Colors of Benetton as well as cafés with small esplanades. We went at Christmas and we still saw her decorated with her lighted tree.

Rooftop Hotel Roommate Valeria – Málaga, Espanha

Tentámos um rooftop antes de conseguir uma mesa no do Room Mate Hotel Valeria, ainda bem que assim foi porque a sua vista valeu a pena além de ser um espaço moderno e acolhedor. Ao chegar á recepção disseram-nos que estava cheio e que desde o bar tinham pedido para não deixar subir mais pessoas ainda assim deixaram-me espreitar e foi quando consegui “apanhar” uma mesa com vista para a roda gigante.

We tried a rooftop before getting a table at Room Mate Hotel Valeria, glad we did so because its view was worth it as well as being a modern and welcoming space. When they arrived at the reception they told us that it was full and that from the bar they had asked not to let more people go up they still let me peek and that was when I was able to “catch” a table with a view of the Ferris wheel.

Miradouro do Parador de Gibralfaro – Málaga, Espanha

O Parador está instalado no monte de Gibralfaro local onde se encontra também o Castelo. E uma das suas grandes vantagens são as suas vistas priveligiadas sobre Málaga, daqui podemos ver as suas praias, a Praça de Touros da Malagueta, o Muelle Uno e uma boa parte do centro histórico incluindo a Alcázabar e a Catedral.

The Parador is settled in the Gibralfaro mountain where the Castle is also located. And one of its great advantages is its privileged views over Málaga, from here we can see its beaches, the Bullring of the Malagueta, Muelle Uno and a good part of the historical center including Alcázabar and the Cathedral.

Centre Pompidou – Málaga, Espanha

Um dos museus mais importantes da cidade e o primeiro Centre Pompidou a ser instalado fora de Paris. Construido em 2013 destaca no seu exterior pelo grande cubo colorido na parte superior e no seu interior estão algumas obras de arte e instalações interessantes. Chagalli, Picasso, Frida Kahlo e Miró são apenas alguns dos nomes sonantes que as assinam.

One of the most important museums in the city and the first Center Pompidou to be installed outside of Paris. Built in 2013 it stands out from the outside by the large colored cube at the top and inside are some interesting works of art and installations. Chagalli, Picasso, Frida Kahlo and Miró are just a few of the big names that sign them.

Paseo del Muelle Uno – Málaga, Espanha

A primeira vez que fui a Málaga foi a trabalho, não tive muito tempo mas já nessa breve visita deu para perceber que era uma cidade para voltar e um dos lugares que mais gostei foi o do Paseo del Muelle Uno. A prova que com empenho, criatividade e claro está investimento é possível transformar um lugar onde antes esteve um porto marítimo cuja história remonta a época dos romanos que na fase anterior á sua grande reforma caiu em desuso, para voltar a transformar-se num lugar imprescindivel para quem vive na cidade.

The first time I went to Malaga was to work, I did not have much time but already in that brief was enough to realize that it was a city to return and one of the places that I liked was Paseo del Muelle Uno. The proof that with commitment, creativity and of course investment it is possible to transform a place where once was a maritime port whose history dates back to the Roman era, which in the period before its great renovation fell into disuse, to return to become an indispensable place for those who live in the city.

Calle Larios – Málaga, Espanha

A melhor altura (ou pior na opinião de alguns) para passear por esta rua é no Natal. Ao seu reboliço habitual por ser uma das mais centrais da cidade, uma das mais caras por metro quadrado e com as melhores lojas, tem nessa época festiva um jogo de luzes difícil de encontrar noutra cidade de Espanha. A de este ano era uma homenagem á Catedral de Málaga com os arcos relembrando a arquitectura gótica de este estilo de construção para além de uma coloridas rosáceas.

The best time (or worse in the opinion of some) to stroll down this street is at Christmas. To its usual crowd because it is one of the most central of the city, one of the most expensive per square meter and with the best shops, has in this festive season a game of lights difficult to find in another city of Spain. This year’s was a tribute to the Cathedral of Malaga with the arches reminiscent of the Gothic architecture of this style of construction in addition to a colorful rosacea

Teatro Romano – Málaga, Espanha

Construído na época do emperador romano César Augusto, no século I depois de Cristo e acabou por ser desmantelado parcialmente para construir a Alcazaba que se encontra ao seu lado. É possível visitar entrando pelo Centro de Interpretação ou subindo a uma parte da Alcazaba podemos ter a vista completa do teatro que foi o que optámos por fazer.

Built at the time of the Roman emperor Caesar Augustus, in the first century after Christ and was eventually dismantled partially to build the Alcazaba that is next to it. It is possible to visit entering the Interpretation Center or going up to a part of the Alcazaba we can have the full view of the theater that is what we chose to do.

Catedral de la Encarnación – Málaga, Espanha

A sua construção começa em 1528 durante o reinado de Carlos I (o neto dos Reis Católicos) e nunca realmente terminou o que faz com que seja conhecida como La Manquita (uma senhora que só tem um braço). Onde deveria ter duas torres com sinos vemos apenas uma finalizada na sua fachada principal cuja pequena praça torna quase impossível capturá-la por completo.

Its construction began in 1528 during the reign of Charles I (the grandson of the Catholic Kings) and never really finished what makes it known as La Manquita (a lady with only one arm). Where it should have two towers with bells we see only one finished in its main façade whose small square makes it almost impossible to capture it completely.
