Localizada na zona de Fomento, esta praia não existia até á década de noventa em que os planos de reabilitação da zona maritima de Gijón começaram. Está na zona oeste do centro da cidade e é uma das mais concorridas também porque é de fácil acesso para os que aqui vivem e visitam. Do lado esquerdo está o Aquário de Gijón e do lado direito o porto recreativo, um centro de bem estar e podemos também ver a parte de Cimadevilla.

Located in the zone of Fomento, this beach did not exist until the nineties when the rehabilitation plans of the marine area of Gijón began. It is in the west zone of the center of the city and is one of the most popular also because it is easily accessible for those who live and visit it. On the left side is the Aquarium of Gijón and on the right side the recreational port, a wellness center and we can also see the part of Cimadevilla.

Não chegámos a tocar a água por isso não sabemos a sua temperatura, dizem que as águas por aqui são frias mas a julgar pelo número de pessoas que estavam no mar na altura que fomos (eram umas cinco da tarde) não deve estar tão má, ou já estão mais que habituados. Tem um bom areal e todos os serviços de apoio, nela está o passeio pelo litoral que estava igualmente cheio de gente e onde deixámos as crianças brincar durante algum tempo no parque, chegando a jogar á bola com novos amigos.

We did not get to touch the water so we do not know its temperature, they say the waters here are cold but judging by the number of people that were at sea at the time we went (it was about five in the afternoon) should not be so bad, or they are already more than accustomed. It has a good length of sand and all the support services, there is the sidewalk that was also full of people and where we let the children play for some time in the park, even playing the ball with new friends.
