Desesperadamente procurando o melhor cachorro quente da cidade, temos uns sabores em concreto na cabeça (os do cachorro do Sobe e Desce em Cascais) que estão a ser dificeis de replicar. Fomos ao Paperboy com essa missão e não conseguimos encontrar esses mas outros, novos e alguns mais originais. São de autor e a sua carta respeita o nome, cada um tem o nome de um jornal que corresponde á origem da receita. Pratos favoritos: o cachorro New York Times e o crepe com doce de leite.
Desperately searching for the best hot dog in town, we have some concrete flavors on our head (those of the Sobe e Desce in Cascais) that are difficult to replicate. We went to Paperboy with this mission and we could not find these but other, new and some more original. They are author hotdogs and its menu respects the name, each one has the name of a newspaper that corresponds to the origin of the recipe. Favorite dishes: the New York Times hotdog and the crepe with dulce de leche.
Para começar pedimos uma generosa dose de nachos com carne picada, queijo derretido, uma original apresentação do molho de guacamole e estavam óptimos mas não conseguimos comer tudo e eramos dois adultos + 2 crianças. Para os mais pequenos pedimos cachorros quentes mais simples apenas com ketchup e nós decidimos provar o New York Times e o Boston Globe. O primeiro foi o favorito talvez mais fiel aos tradicionais sabores de um hotdog na cidade americana, com estaladiços pedaços de bacon, queijo cheddar e molho de barbecue. O Boston Globe trazia como topping 5 mini almôndegas sendo talvez o cachorro para os mais valentes, levava também queijo emmental e um molho de bacon, para além de um toque de molho de barbecue. Podes também escolher a salchicha que queres no teu cachorro, entre Frankfurt e Bratwurst, qualquer uma das duas vale a pena são de boa qualidade. Especial nota também para as batatas fritas que estavam óptimas. Não são os cachorros mais baratos se vais para as opções mais gourmet mas sim que ficas bastante satisfeito comendo um.
For starters we ordered a generous serve of nachos with minced meat, melted cheese, an original presentation of the guacamole sauce and they were great but we could not eat it all and we were two adults + 2 kids. For the little ones we asked for simpler hot dogs with ketchup and we decided to try the New York Times and the Boston Globe. The first was perhaps the most faithful to the traditional flavors of a hotdog in the american city, with crispy bits of bacon, cheddar cheese and barbecue sauce. The Boston Globe brought as topping 5 mini meatballs, perhaps being the dog to the bravest, carrying emmental cheese and a bacon sauce, plus a touch of barbecue sauce. You can also choose the sausage you want in your dog, between Frankfurt and Bratwurst, either of the two are worth it as they are of good quality. Special note also for the fries which were great. It is not the cheapest dogs if you go for the more gourmet options but you will be quite satisfied eating one.
