Perto do Highline descobrimos o Chelsea Market cujo nome me soava mas que nem o tinha apontado na lista a visitar, ainda assim foi uma agradável surpresa e o lugar onde almoçámos num dos últimos dias da nossa estadia em Nova Iorque. Instalado no edificio da antiga fábrica da Nabisco (famosa pelas suas bolachas Oreo) mantém esse aspecto industrial dos século XIX ou principio do século XX. No seu interior encontramos de tudo um pouco, restaurantes com cozinhas de vários países, lojas de roupa e gourmet, etc..

Near the highline we discovered the Chelsea Market whose name sounded to me but it was not even on our list to visit, yet it was a pleasant surprise and the place where we had lunch on one of the last days of our stay in New York. Installed in the old Nabisco factory building (famous for its Oreo wafers) it maintains this industrial aspect of the nineteenth or early twentieth century. In its interior we find a bit of everything, restaurants with kitchens from various countries, clothing and gourmet stores, etc …

Foi aqui que encontrámos o Lobster Place (https://lobsterplace.com/) e foi só entrar para saber que a decisão era a mais correcta, era uma peixaria/marisqueira onde podes comprar a lagosta para fazer em casa ou comer ali. Optámos pela última, cozida e com um simples molho de manteiga derretida que a faz ainda mais saborosa. Mas não queríamos comer apenas a lagosta e pedimos também uns tacos do posto de Los Tacos Nº 1 (https://www.lostacos1.com/). A oferta é variada, desde o currywurst, ao corndog, donuts e bolachas há de tudo um pouco. Comprámos também na famosa Eleni’s cookies que segundo pude averiguar fechou as suas portas no mercado e que agora apenas podemos encontrar em lojas como Dean & Deluca.

It was here that we found Lobster Place (https://lobsterplace.com/) and just by getting in we knew that this decision was the right one, it was a fishmonger / seafood shop where you can buy the lobster to make at home or eat there. We opted for the latter, cooked and with a simple sauce of melted butter that makes it even tastier. But we did not want to eat just the lobster and we also ordered tacos from the post at Los Tacos Nº 1 (https://www.lostacos1.com/). The offer is varied, from the currywurst, to the corndog, donuts and biscuits there is everything a little. We also bought in the famous Eleni’s cookies that second I could find closed its doors in the market and that now only we can find in stores like Dean & Deluca.
