A Praça do Capitólio foi o centro das nossas visitas em Toulouse, como escolhemos um hotel fora este era o nosso ponto de encontro com a cidade. Tal como o é para muitos dos que aqui vivem, é quase impossível tirar uma foto durante o dia sem ter gente a passar, há sempre um mercado ou feira montada em algum dia. O edificio mais relevante é o que lhe dá o nome, o do Capitólio a sua câmara municipal e é ele que marca a arquitetura da praça mas há muito mais para ver.

Capitol square was the center of our visits in Toulouse, as we chose a hotel outside this was our meeting point with the city. As it is for many of those who live here, it is almost impossible to take a picture during the day without people passing by, there is always a market or fair set up sometime. The most relevant building is what gives it its name, the Capitol building is its town hall and it is what marks the architecture of the square but there is so much to see.

Aqui confirma-se o nome da cidade vermelha graças aos demais edificios que contornam a praça, num deles encontramos umas grandes arcadas onde estão vários cafés, restaurantes e esplanadas. Ao caminhar por aí é importante olhar para cima, os seus tectos estão revistos de arte creada por Raymond Moretti. Noutra lateral está o café literário Bibent que entrámos para conhecer e tomar algo, um lugar reconhecido como monumento histórico com um luxuoso interior de detalhes do Barroco e com alguma curiosidade da Primeira Guerra Mundial para contar.

Here the name of the red city is confirmed thanks to the other buildings that surround the square, in one of them we find large arcades where there are several cafes, restaurants and terraces. When walking around it’s important to look up, your ceilings are revised by Raymond Moretti’s art. On the other side is the Bibent literary cafe that we came to discover and have a drink, a place recognized as a historical monument with a luxurious interior of Baroque details and some World War I curiosity to tell.
