Quase todos os anos fazemos um passeio a Toledo, como vamos pouco tempo conseguimos ver sempre algo novo de cada vez, pelo menos novo para nós. Outrora a capital do império espanhol mantém os seus encantos e as suas misturas arquitetónicas entre o medieval e a mudéjar. O passeio começou junto ao Alcázar onde estacionámos o carro e entrámos na teia de ruas estreitas que caracterizam a cidade até chegar á Catedral.
Almost every year we take stroll in Toledo, as we go on short trips we can always see something new each time, at least new to us. Once the capital of the Spanish empire retains its charms and its architectural mixtures between the medieval and Mudejar. The tour started with the Alcázar where we parked the car and we went into the web of narrow streets that characterize the city to get you Cathedral.
Dali chegámos á Calle de la Trinidad para almoçar no La Malquerida (ver post aqui) continuámos por aqui até chegar á Plaza de el Salvador para depois cruzar pela Calle de Santo Tomé, uma das mais interessantes da cidade. Aqui nasceu em 1856 a pastelaria San Tomé que vende os famosos pastéis mazapanes (massa pão) e os meus favoritos são os de pinhão, de comer e chorar por mais. Na mesma rua tirei uma foto a uma representação da pintura mais famosa de El Greco, a única que se pode tirar porque onde está colocada não é possível tirar fotos. Entramos na estreita rua que nos leva até á entrada para Igreja de San Tomé, pagámos 2,5€ para entrar e ver a sua principal atracção: El Entierro del Señor de Orgaz. Uma impressionante pintura junto ao túmulo de Gonzalo Ruiz de Toledo, o Conde de Orgaz que teve um papel importante na cidade e ficou para sempre imortalizado no quadro do pintor grego.
From there we reached Calle de la Trinidad to have lunch at La Malquerida (see post here) carried on that street until we arrived at the Plaza de El Salvador and then cross the Calle de Santo Tomé, one of the most interesting in the city. Her in the year 1856 the Pastelaria San Tomé was born selling the famous pastries mazapanes (marzipan) and my favorites are the pinuts, to eat and cry for more. On the same street I took a picture of a representation of the most famous painting by El Greco, the only one you can take because where it is placed you are not allowed to take pictures. We entered the narrow street that leads to the entrance to the Church of San Tomé, paid € 2.5 to enter and see its main attraction: El Entierro del Señor de Orgaz. A stunning painting at the tomb of Gonzalo Ruiz de Toledo, the Conde de Orgaz who played an important role in the city and was forever immortalized by the Greek painter.

Seguimos depois pela Judería, a ideia era visitar a Sinagoga del Tránsito, uma vez mais ruas estreitas cheias de encanto e charme. Batemos com o nariz na porta, por ser Domingo grande parte dos museus e monumentos estavam fechados pelo menos pela tarde e a Sinagoga não foi excepção. Mais á frente estava o Museo del Greco também ele fechado mas aproveitámos o facto de estar no Jardim do Tránsito para ver a vista da outra margem do Rio Tejo e do que está á volta, vimos o Convento de San Gil. After we walked through the Judería, the idea was to visit the Sinagoga del Transito, once again narrow streets full of charm and charm. We hit with the nose in the door, being Sunday much of the museums and monuments were closed at least in the afternoon and the Synagogue was no exception. More ahead was the Museo del Greco also closed but we took advantage of the fact of being in the Tránsito Garden to see the view from the other side of the Tagus River and what is around it, we have seen the Convent of San Gil.
