O que mais surpreende na Igreja de Santa Catarina tem que ver com o Lado A e o Lado B das coisas, o Lado A com a sua discreta fachada gótica na Praça Lope de Vega faz pensar que é uma igreja como outra qualquer, mas o Lado B que está na Praça de la Reina tem uma torre de campanário construida no século XVII com o estilo da época, o barroco.
What is striking in the Church of Santa Catarina has to do with the A side and the B side of things, the Side A with its discreet Gothic facade in Lope de Vega square has you think it is a church like any other, but the Side B that is in the Plaza de la Reina has a bell tower built in the seventeenth century with the style of the era, the Baroque.
Não consegui fazer uma visita completa porque estavam a celebrar um casamento, deu para ter uma ideia do seu interior que mantém o estilo gótico apesar de ter sido reconstruída depois da Guerra Civil Espanhola. Sem grandes decorações são os vitrais que dão alguma cor a esta pequena igreja.
A torre, um dos símbolos da cidade, foi construída em 1705. Tem cerca de cinquenta e seis metros de altura e os sinos que estão no seu interior foram produzidos em Inglaterra.
I could not do a complete visit because they were celebrating a wedding, still you could get an idea of its interior that keeps the gothic style although it was rebuilt after the Spanish Civil War. Without great decorations the stained glass windows give some color to this little church. The Tower, a symbol of the city, was built in 1705. It has about fifty-six meters in height and the bells that are inside were manufactured in England.
