Podes ler todos os guias e revistas sobre Veneza, todas te dirão que é única, todas te dirão que não lhe ficarás indiferente, algumas talvez digam que voltas a casa fazes as malas e decides ali viver, mas na realidade nada te prepara para o impacto que te deixa. Não é apenas porque é bela, é também a maneira como nela se vive. Não há carros, só barcos. Não há passadeiras, há pontes. Não há parques de estacionamento, há portos.
E o que mais gostámos nem foi o óbvio e a melhor experiência de todas: andar por Veneza sem mapa, todos os guias o recomendam, já se tornou um cliché mas é a mais pura das verdades.

You can read all in guides and magazines about Venice, all will say its unique, all will tell you that you will not be indifferent, some may say that when you go back home you pack your bags and decide to live there, but nothing really prepares you for the impact that it leaves on you. Not only because it is beautiful, it is also the way people live in it. There are no cars, only boats. There are no crossings, there’s bridges. No parking, just ports.
What we liked most was not the obvious and the best experience of all: walking through Venice without a map, all the guides recommend, it has already become a cliché but it is the purest of truths.
