Dentro da Comunidade de Madrid há vários “pueblos” de interesse histórico que ficam a uma hora, Buitrago de Lozoya é um deles. A sua muralha medieval que faz caminho junto ao rio Lozoya e a sua igreja são os principais pontos a visitar. É verdade que a achei um pouco “abandonada”, antes de ir li que estavam investidos em recuperá-la e onde mais se nota a degradação é na parte inferior do Castelo.
Within the Community of Madrid there are several “pueblos” of historical interest that are within an hour, Buitrago de Lozoya is one of them. Its medieval wall that runs along the Lozoya River and its church are the main points to visit. It is true that I found it a little “abandoned”, before going I read that they were invested in recovering it and where the degradation is most noticeable is at the bottom of the Castle.
Para além do Castelo o outro edificio que mais destaca em Buitrago é a Igreja de Santa Maria. Contém ainda alguns traços e vestigios da original do século XIV tendo sido parcialmente destruída durante a Guerra Civil. Mesmo renovada no século XX mantém o seu espirito medieval, os tectos de madeira elaborados e a simplicidade de uma igreja da época. Uma das melhores vistas é desde a muralha.

Na foto anterior está o Alcázar, uma construção do século XV de influências árabes e contava com sete torres algumas das quais podemos ainda ver em relativamente bom estado. O castelo que pertencia á casa dos Mendonza teve uma ilustre convidada na época da disputa do reino de Castela, Joana Beltraneja (que reclamava o trono ocupado pela Rainha Isabel e que se casou com Afonso V, Rei de Portugal) esteve aqui hospedada.

De Buitrago ficaram as memórias de um bonito passeio ao longo das muralhas mas na realidade pouco mais posso dizer sobre o lugar. Comemos em Torrelaguna porque não encontrávamos um bom restaurante e apesar do encanto que tem de estar junto ao rio Lozoya, precisa de umas boas reformas para replicar a glória de outros tempos.
