Este museu não seria a minha primeira escolha sobre o que ver em Estugarda mas o que sempre me surpreende nos museus de automóveis (este é o segundo o primeiro foi o da BMW) é que na realidade não são apenas sobre carros, têm muito mais de história tanto da criação de uma marca como dos que a construiram como da cidade onde ela nasce e cresce. Tudo isto faz com que uma visita ao Mercedes-Benz valha sempre a pena.
This museum would not be my first choice on what to see in Stuttgart but what always strikes me about car museums (this is the second first BMW one) is that it’s really not just about cars, it has a lot more to it. history of both the creation of a brand and those who built it, as well as the city where it is born and grown. All this makes a visit to the Mercedes-Benz always worthwhile.
Tudo começa no século XIX com Karl Benz que inventa o primeiro veículo que circulava com um motor de combustão interna. Veículo esse que podemos ver logo ao inicio da exposição e que marca a cronologia para o resto da visita, ali começou tudo. Depois Paul Daimler funda a empresa em 1926 e há uma curiosidade por detrás da marca porque recebeu o nome da filha de um dos seus distribuidores, Mercedes. São mais de 130 anos de história e 150 carros expostos entre protótipos ou os desenhos mais reconhecidos e vendidos da marca, o seu percurso é circular e no final chegamos aos últimos modelos, aos mais actuais da marca.
It all starts in the nineteenth century with Karl Benz inventing the first vehicle that circulated with an internal combustion engine. This vehicle that we can see right at the beginning of the exhibition and that marks the chronology for the rest of the visit, there began everything. Then Paul Daimler founded the company in 1926 and there is a curiosity behind the brand because it is named after the daughter of one of its distributors, Mercedes. There are more than 130 years of history and 150 cars displayed between prototypes or the most recognized and sold designs of the brand, its route is circular and in the end we reach the latest models, the most current of the brand.
