Não é o único monumento ou estátua dedicada a Kafka mas é talvez a mais interessante e técnica que podemos ver na cidade. São 42 placas giratórias que vão rodando para dar a forma da cara do escritor checo e celebrar a “Metamorphosis”, uma das suas obras. Foi construída em 2014 e desenhada por David Černý, o genial escultor que nasceu no cidade.
It is not the only monument or statue dedicated to Kafka but it is perhaps the most interesting and technical one that we can see in the city. There are 42 swivel plates that are rotating to give the shape of the face of the Czech writer and celebrate the “Metamorphosis”, one of his works. It was built in 2014 and designed by David Černý, the brilliant sculptor who was born in the city.
Fica perto do Centro Comercial Quadrio no centro de Praga e segundo o que li antes de ir está em constante rotação mas quando a vi estava estática, por completo. Talvez seja que agora querem mostrar apenas a face mais tranquila de Kafka porque a interpretação da obra diz que quando está distorcida é um reflexo da difícil vida do autor.
It is near the Quadrio Shopping Center in the center of Prague and according to what I read before going it is supposed to be in constant rotation but when I saw it, was static, completely. Perhaps it is that now they want to show only the calmer face of Kafka because the interpretation of the work says that when it is distorted it is a reflection of the difficult life of the author.
