Pensei muito antes de publicar este post se realmente o El Huerto de Juan Rana o merecia, sempre muito bem recomendado por tanta gente, para mim ficou muito longe da expectativa. Isso sim, a sua vista é incrível e deve estar nos rankings dos restaurantes com as melhores do mundo, mas a comida não esteve á medida, não era má apenas que em tabernas com menos ambição comemos melhor. Recomendaria vir aqui fora das horas de comer e tomar uma cerveja, talvez pedir algo para picar.
I thought a lot before posting this post if really the El Huerto de Juan Rana deserved it, always very well recommended by so many people, for me it was very far from the expectation. One thing is right, the view is incredible and should be in the rankings of restaurants with the best in the world, but the food was not a high, it was not bad only that in taverns with less ambition we had better. Would recommend coming here out of hours to eat and have a beer, maybe ask for something to snack.
Conseguimos mesa na sua grande esplanada, uma grande proeza dada a grande afluência e nem todos ocupavam mesa para almoçar. O atendimento, que nestas coisas deveria por mão, era passivo mas simpático. Como têm duas cartas, uma para sala e outra para a “terraza” pode ser que tenha alguma influencia na experiencia, mas o tartar que pedi estava normalito, o rabo de toro podia ter um pouco mais de sabor (e carne) e o hamburguer era para os miúdos que são fáceis de agradar (talvez o pão com sementes para eles não fosse o ideal mas não é culpa do restaurante). Preços de Granada não é barato mas quem está habituado a Madrid fica em conta.
We got a table on the big esplanade, a great feat given the great affluence and not everyone occupied a table for lunch. The care, which in these things should be by hand, was passive but pleasant. As they have two menus, one for room and another for the terrace might have some influence on the experience, but the tartar I ordered was average, the ox tail could have a little more flavor (and meat) and the burger was for kids who are easy to please (maybe the bread with seeds for them was not ideal but it’s not the restaurant’s fault). For Granada prices it is not cheap but those who are accustomed to Madrid it was within average.
