Este lugar muito “instagramável” (será que se pode dizer isto?) chamou-me a atenção pela sua decoração e vista para a praia, ás vezes quando estás de férias e no meio de tanta taberna típica apetece-te um toque mais moderno, algo diferente e foi o que me fez levar a familia a comer no La Playa. A carta é interessante, destacam-se os produtos locais entre mariscos e peixe mas os preços são, a meu ver, para a zona muito caros e o serviço um pouco lento.

This place is very “instagrammable” (can one say this?) I was struck by its decoration and view of the beach, sometimes when you are on vacation and in the middle of so much typical places you fancy a more modern touch, something different and it was what made me take family to eat at La Playa. The menu is interesting, stand out the local products between clams and fish but the prices are, in my view, very expensive for the area and the service a bit slow.

Optámos por comer dentro, íamos com o bébé e achámos que seria melhor, além disso é muito bonito por dentro, com uma decoração acolhedora. Quando nos sentámos serviram umas tostinhas com queijo e doce, tapa grátis pensámos e não vem na conta mas cobram-te 3€ por serviço, o que para dois adultos e duas crianças foram 12€ que não vejo razão para os cobrar e mais não estando na esplanada. Para os miúdos a única opção foi um Fish and Chips (e ainda bem) feito com pescada que estava bom mas que me pergunto se valia os 15€, por outro lado como deu para os dois miúdos e sobrou é de reconsiderar. Para nós pedimos umas gambas em panco e com maionese de soja (18€) e um polvo com bolo de pimentão (18€). Ambos óptimos mas destacaría o polvo pela originalidade e sabor. Depois veio um arroz com camarão e ameijoas (20€), o prato que acabou por sobrar, estava bom mas nada que me fizesse querer repetir. Decidimos pedir um brownie com gelado (7€) e a pesar de estar bom não vale  o preço, chega a ser mais caro que uma boa sobremesa num restaurante da moda de Madrid. Em resumo, gostei da sua localização e decoração, o serviço era simpático mas demorado em todos os níveis (desde a cozinha aos empregados) e os preços creio que não são completamente justificados principalmente os 12€ de pão e serviço á mesa. Uma pena, porque merecia melhores críticas, merecia ser considerado o melhor de Luanco e não é. Há quem recomende o brunch daqui, seria algo a experimentar mas pelo nível de preços deixa-me a dúvida…

We chose to eat inside, we went with the baby and we thought it would be better, moreover it is very beautiful inside with a warm decor. When we sat down they served a little toast with cheese and sweet, free tapa we thought and it does not come in the bill but they charge you € 3 per service, which for two adults and two children were € 12 which I see no reason to charge them and more not being On the terrace. For the kids the only option was a Fish and Chips (and still good) made with hake which was good but I wonder if it was worth the 15 €, on the other hand as it gave the two kids and leftover is to reconsider. For us we ordered a shrimp in panco and with soy mayonnaise (18 €) and an octopus with chili cake (18 €). Both great but highlight the octopus for originality and flavor. Then came a rice with shrimp and clams (20 €), the dish that was left over, was good but nothing that made me want to repeat. We decided to order a brownie with ice cream (€ 7) and despite being good it’s not worth the price, it’s more expensive than a good dessert in a trendy Madrid restaurant. In summary, I liked its location and decor, the service was friendly but time consuming on all levels (from the kitchen to the employees) and the prices I believe are not completely justified especially the € 12 bread and table service. A pity, because it deserved better reviews, deserved to be considered the best of Luanco and it is not. Some people recommend the brunch here, it would be something to try but by the price level leaves me the doubt …

Guardei este ponto para o fim, fomos com um bébé e é uma pena um lugar como este não ter fraldário (e sigo sem entender como não é obrigatório neste país ou região).

I kept this point to an end, went with a baby and it’s a shame a place like this does not have a baby changing room (and I still do not understand why it’s not mandatory in this country or region).
