Eram o objetivo do nosso piquenique, já tinha imaginado estar sentada no relvado de este belo jardim com a nossa cesta composta por productos comprados no Mercado de la Boqueria…mas não, era proibido. Mesmo com isto não retirou o encanto á visita a este pequeno parque com o nome do poeta catalão, Joan Maragall. Fazem parte do Palacete Albéniz, a residência oficial da familia real espanhola quando está em Barcelona.
They were the goal of our picnic, I had already imagined to be sitting on the lawn of this beautiful garden with our basket made up of products bought in Mercado de la Boqueria … but no, it was forbidden. Even with this it did not remove the charm of visiting this small park with the name of the Catalan poet, Joan Maragall. They are part of the Albéniz Palace, the official residence of the Spanish royal family when it is in Barcelona.
Os horários do parque eram limitados e tivémos pouco tempo para o ver porque fechava ás 15h, ainda assim vimos o essencial e não é assim tão grande. Até chegar ao Palácio fomos seguindo os caminhos por entre os arvoredos e apreciando as diversas esculturas que se iam destacando na sua maioria de mulheres. Encontramos depois um jardim clásico em frente á fonte que se encontra junto ao Palacete, a vista chegava até a antena que se encontra no Estádio Olímpico. É provavelmente um dos parques mais românticos da cidade e dos menos frequentados.
The park hours were limited and we had little time to see it because it closed at 3:00 p.m., yet we saw the essential and it is not that big. Until arriving at the Palace we followed the paths through the groves while appreciating the various sculptures that were highlighting it, they were mostly of women. Next we find a classical garden in front of the fountain that is next to the Palacete, the view goes as far the antenna that is in the Olympic Stadium. It is probably one of the most romantic parks in the city and the less crowded.
