Burger Joint
Bairro: Chamberí
Finalmente abriu em Madrid uma sucursal do êxito nova-iorquino, menos “clandestina” que o original mas tentando replicar o espirito. Os hamburguers são bons ao nível dos melhores da cidade ainda assim não sentimos que fossem iguais. Valem a pena e os preços são razoáveis.
Finally opened in Madrid a branch of the New York success, less “underground” than the original but trying to replicate the spirit. The burgers are good at the level of the best in town still we did do not feel that they were equal. Worth it and the prices are reasonable.
Perrachica
Bairro: Chamberí
O melhor de este lugar é a sua decoração, único e acolhedora tem uma “terraza” de sonho, a carta tem muitos dos pratos do irmão Marieta mas não sei porquê não senti os mesmos sabores. Ainda assim vale a pena ir para conhecer. Pratos favoritos: bolinhos da sorte com ovo de cordoniz e as beringelas com mel e hummus.
The best of this place is its decor, unique and cozy has a terrace dream, the menu has many of the Marieta brother dishes but do not know why I did not feel the same flavors. Still worth going to discover it. Favorite dishes: fortune cookies with quail egg and aubergines with honey and hummus.

Taberna com típico charme madrileño surpreende por ter um menu italiano com comida simples de toca caseiro, não é o melhor do mundo mas é uma boa opção quando a Praça de Olavide está a rebentar. Prato favorito: salada de burrata
Tavern with typical Madrilenian charm is surprising to have an Italian menu with simple food of homemade burger, not the best in the world but is a good option when the Plaza de Olavide is bursting with people. Favorite food: burrata salad

Restaurante asiático com sabores autênticos que nos transporta ás ruas da Tailândia. Prato favorito: Malaysian Satay
Asian restaurant with authentic flavors that transports us to the streets of Thailand. Favorite food: Malaysian Satay
February/Fevereiro
Vila Brasil
Bairro: Prosperidad
Com saudades de comer um bom rodizio brasileiro encontrámos o lugar certo: Vila Brasil. Com boa qualidade de carne e variedade no buffet foi uma aposta certeira. Prato favorito: para além da carne do rodizio, o pão de queijo e a feijoada.
I missed eating a good Brazilian rodizio we found the right place: Vila Brasil. With good quality of meat and variety in the buffet it was a sure bet. Favorite dish: besides the meat of the rodizio, the cheese bread and the feijoada.
April/Abril
Buns & Bones
Bairro: Lavapiés
A moda dos buns chineses está a invadir a cidade e alguns lugares são verdadeiros especialistas como é o caso do Buns & Bones, tem ainda um delicioso entrecosto com molho de barbacue. Bun favorito: os de Tempura de camarão.
The fashion of the Chinese buns is invading the city and some places are true experts as is the case of Buns & Bones, there is also a delicious entrecosto with barbacue sauce. Favorite Bun: Shrimp Tempura.
Ôven
Bairro: Centro (Gran Vía)
Em plena Gran Vía está o Ôven, um restaurante italiano com ingredientes de alta qualidade e preços razoáveis. As pizzas são boas e é excelente também para ir com crianças ou para o jantar com amigos.
In the heart of Gran Vía is the Ôven, an Italian restaurant with high quality ingredients and reasonable prices. The pizzas are good and is also great to go with kids or for dinner with friends.
Sala de Despiece ***MUST GO***
Bairro: Chamberí
Provavelmente o melhor restaurante onde comemos em 2016, criativo e intenso, tem uma carta difícil de descrever mas a cada dentada de cada prato vivemos uma nova experiência diferente a outras que já tivemos. Pratos favoritos: Rolex e Lomo de Buey com trufa Coreana.
Probably the best restaurant where we ate in 2016, creative and intense, has a menu difficult to describe but with each bite of each dish we live a new experience different from others we have had. Favorite dishes: Rolex and Beef Lomo with Korean truffle.

Outra das descobertas de 2016, o hot pot chinês uma espécie de fondue com um delicioso caldo de dois sabores em que um é mais picante. Dentro cozinhamos noodles, verduras, camarão, carne e deliciosos dumplings.
Another of the discoveries of 2016, the Chinese hot pot a kind of fondue with a delicious broth of teo flavors in which one is more spicy. Inside we cooked noodles, vegetables, shrimp, meat and delicious dumplings.

Provavelmente um dos mais caros desta lista que está muito na moda entre os executivos que trabalham pela zona. A carta tem vários pratos familiares da cozinha espanhola ainda que elaborados com algumas inovações ou ingredientes de grande qualidade. Prato favorito: tortilla trufada
Probably one of the most expensive of this list that is very fashionable among executives working in the area. The menu has several familiar dishes of the Spanish cuisine although elaborated with some innovations or ingredients of great quality. Favorite dish: tortilla trufada
Federal Café
Bairro: Malasaña
Federal Café é o lugar favorito de muitos criativos freelancers como se fosse a sua segunda casa e é talvez um dos que mais vejo em fotografias em Instagram na hora do brunch ou na hora do lanche dos bloggers mais influentes de Madrid. Fui apenas á hora do lanche e comi uma boa fatia de bolo mas faltou provar mais.
Federal Café is the favorite place of many creative freelancers as if it were their second home and is perhaps one of the most seen in Instagram pictures at brunch or at lunchtime by Madrid’s most influential bloggers. I went only at lunch time and I had a good slice of cake, but I need to taste more.

Um dos nossos indianos favoritos, não é barato como os de Lavapiés mas a sua boa qualidade vale o preço. Ao fim de semana encontramos familia indianas a comer aqui o que só pode ser um bom sinal. Pratos favoritos: Chicken tikka masala e o Jalfrezi.
One of our Indian favorites is not cheap like those in Lavapies but its good quality is worth the price. At the weekend we find Indian family to eat here which can only be a good sign. Favorite dishes: Chicken tikka masala and Jalfrezi.

Restaurante de fusão com alma taberneira (como dizem) tem um interior simples e uma carta interessante com preços acessíveis. Pratos favoritos: o bao com porco de e o ceviche.
Fusion restaurant with soul tabernacle (as they say) has a simple interior and an interesting menu with affordable prices. Favorite dishes: the bao with pork and ceviche.
Pink Monkey

O Pink Monkey combina os sabores da Ásia com influências peruana e mexicana onde os baos são estrela mas também os dumplings e o caril. Pratos favoritos: Bao de bacon

Restaurante de comida tailandesa no centro de Madrid na zona de Chueca e foi bem cotado tanto por nós como pelos miúdos que foram connosco para experimentar uma cozinha diferente. Pratos favoritos: pad thai e o kai sato.
Thai food restaurant in the center of Madrid in Chueca area and was well regarded both by us and by kids who were with us to try a different cuisine. Favorite dishes: pad thai and Kai Sato.

Abrásame
Bairro: Malasaña
Fomos a este restaurante á procura do frango assado estilo português e encontrámos mais que isso, uma carte venezuelana excelente para a introdução á cozinha sul americana, com tostones, arepas e yuca. Pratos favoritos: arepa de carne mechada e frango assado.
We went to this restaurante looking for the Portuguese style roasted chicken and we found more than that, a great Venezuelan menu as introduction to South American cuisine with tostones, arepas and yuca. Favorite dishes: Arepa with carne mechada and roasted chicken.
Bolero Meatballs

Pequeno e autêntico aqui só se servem almôndegas, com acompanhamento ou em sandes são uma excelente experiência e a um preço económico.
Small and authentic here only meatballs served, with accompaniment or sandwiches are an excellent experience and at an economical price.

Las Rozas de Madrid
Comecei a ver La Virgen nos food trucks, era uma forma de promover a marca de cerveja artesanal mas também os seus bons hamburguers. Agora abriram as portas da sua fábrica e podemos comer para além de degustar os vários sabores das suas cervejas.
I started to see La Virgen in food trucks, it was a way to promote the brand of homemade beer but also its good hamburgers. Now they have opened the doors of their factory and we can eat in addition to tasting the various flavors of their beers.

Para celebrar o Natal montaram um mercado aos pés do Palácio do Infante D. Luís e para além das bancadas para comprar as últimas prendas encontrámos também vários food trucks como o El Briche Ahumado, um dos vencedores de 2016. Comi o seu Bocata chino de Pato e foi uma super experiência.
To celebrate Christmas they set up a market at the foot of the Infante D. Luís Palace and besides the benches to buy the latest gifts we also found several food trucks like El Briche Ahumado, one of the winners of 2016. I ate your Chinese Duck Bocata And it was a super experience.

Outra das grandes surpresas do mercado foi o Food truck de burgers, com pouca variedade é certo mas grande qualidade. O pão de brioche era perfeito para uma carne deliciosa e muito bem acompanhada.
Another of the big surprises on the market was the food truck of burgers, with little variety but great quality. Brioche bread was perfect for delicious meat and very well accompanied.
