Boas noticias: já não temos que fazer mais de 650kms para comer um bom pastel de nata. Já os vendem aqui em Madrid na Real Cake que fica na Calle Goya em pleno bairro de Salamanca.
Good news: we don’t have to do 650kms to eat a good “pastel de nata” (portuguese custard cake). They’re sold here in Madrid in the Real Cake that it is in Calle Goya in the Salamanca neighborhood.
One friend already had told us about it but it was here that I found out where they sell them: Madrid Cool Blog.
Atenção que disse pastéis de nata e não de Belém, mas estão muito bons. Eu apanhei-os quentinhos e não vi grande diferença aos que comemos em Portugal nas melhores pastelarias. Um sitio que já está no nosso mapa.
Custam 1,60€ cada.
Não é um espaço muito grande e nem tem mesas apenas um pequeno balcão, parece um conceito de pastelaria “on the go” e vendem outros bolos como por exemplo o bolo de arroz (pelo menos parecia ser), também vendem salgados um deles a chamuça que para quem vive em Portugal também faz sempre parte da oferta de qualquer café. Só faltava mesmo o rissol ou o croquete…
Attention I did say “pastel de nata” not of Belém, but these are very good. I caught them warm and I didn’t see the difference to those we eat in Portugal in the best bakeries. This place is already in our map.
They cost 1,60€ each.
It’s not a big place and you don’t even have tables to seat down only a small counter, it looks like a “on the go” bakery and they sell other cakes like the “bolo de arroz” (rice cake), they also savory things like the samosa that for those living in Portugal it also is part of the menu in any café.
