First a Synagogue then a church, Santa María la Blanca continues to be an excellent example of the Mudéjar movement in Spain.
The exterior does not denounce the wealth of its small interior, which has five naves separated by arches with a horseshoe shape and whose connection to the pillar is made with a decorative detail carved in stone.

O tamanho não lhe reduz o interesse e é impressionante a luminosidade que consegue com as pequenas entradas de luz para além de todas as paredes e pilares estarem pintados de branco. Built in the twelfth century it would suffer over the centuries some changes to both the architecture and function. In 1405 becomes a Christian church, and in the sixteenth century, Cardinal Siliceo uses it as a refuge for penitential repentant women (mostly prostitutes).
The size does not reduce it’s interest and impressive brightness that is achieved with small light leaks also all the walls and pillars are painted white. In some areas may see some traces of its Christian vein with a rich golden decoration. And everywhere Mudejar details mixing with religious architecture.

Inside is also an exhibition of painting and drawing.

De facto o exterior está longe de revelar a beleza do interior. Merecedor de visita, sem sombra de dúvidas.
